Initial Contact
Your Elements Cremation advisor will:
- Determine your state of need: Has death occurred? Is death imminent? Or are you planning pre-need?
- Explain the range and nature of services available including planning, pricing, timeframes, and next steps depending on your state of need
- Provide additional printed information about Elements Cremation and a general price list of cremation services as appropriate

Documentation
Your Elements Cremation advisor will:
- Provide assistance and support in obtaining and completing all required forms and documentation (as appropriate to state of need)
- Statistical Information Sheet—information required for Elements Cremation to file for the death certificate
- Certification of Next of Kin for Cremation—authorization for Elements Cremation to obtain a cremation permit from the jurisdiction in which death occurred
- Authorization to Cremate—authorization for Elements Cremation to perform the cremation
- Authorization to Remove—authorizes Elements Cremation to remove the decedent from the place of death
- Obituary form, if needed, may also be completed later
- Coordinate receipt of signed death certificate, prepare death certificate, file for cremation permit, and obtain documents to execute cremation

Preparation (at time of need)
Your Elements Cremation advisor will:
- If death is imminent, determine location of care and coordinate next steps with the responsible health care provider
- If death has occurred, determine location of decedent and coordinate removal and appropriate care of the decedent

Cremation
Your Elements Cremation advisor will:
- Offer the option of a standard cremation container or cremation casket
- Schedule cremation in accordance with family wishes
- Inform the family and offer options for being present
- Coordinate family attendance (if desired)
- Provide communication or on-site support services (as needed)

Disposition of Cremated Remains
Your Elements Cremation advisor will explain options for decision making and take necessary steps to implement the decision:
- Burial. Elements Cremation will coordinate burial with the cemetery and, if requested, may assist in purchase of a plot; and advise on differences between ground burial and burial in a niche.
- Shipping, domestic and international. Elements Cremation will ensure all necessary permits and documentation are secured and will coordinate shipping and receipt at end destination (e.g., other funeral services provider, cemetery, or other.).
- Delivery to an individual. Elements Cremation will coordinate delivery method, time, and location.
- Transport by an individual, domestic and international. Elements Cremation will ensure all necessary permits and documentation are in place and coordinate with an airline, consulate, or others as necessary.
- Scattering. Elements Cremation will assist those who will be scattering by providing suitable containers and materials and offering to provide guidance on where, when, and how to scatter.
- Retaining the cremains. Elements Cremation will work with those who wish to retain the cremains to choose a containment option best suited to their needs.
